Albert R. (Roger) Stedl, age 77 of Two Rivers, passed away at his residence Saturday morning, December 28, 2024 following a lengthy illness.
Roger was born in Manitowoc on March 12, 1947 to Albert J. and Celestine "Sally" (Mrotek) Stedl. He attended St. Mary's elementary school in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. Roger then served his country (1969-1972) as a member of the U.S. Army. On October 7, 1972 he was united in marriage to Jane E. Cigler at St. John's Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with three daughters. Al and Jane were longtime, faithful members of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers.
He was employed with Hamilton Industries in Two Rivers for 48 years until his retirement. Al enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and loved the outdoors - gardening, hunting, and fishing. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; three daughters & sons-in-law: Sarah (Keith) Lueck, Jennifer (Chad) Smith of Indiana, Rachael (Jason) Hasenstein; nine grandchildren: Elliott and Ivy Lueck; Vanessa, Lauryn and Chad Jr. Smith; Hailey, Harper, Hannah, and Harlow Hasenstein. He is further survived by three brothers-in-law: David (Linda) Cigler of Green Bay, Daniel (Jill) Cigler, and Mark Cigler, all of Manitowoc; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sally Stedl; father-in-law & mother-in-law, John and Dorothy Cigler, Sr.; and a brother-in-law, John Cigler, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3607 45th Street, Two Rivers. Rev. David Arndt will preside at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Lutheran Church, Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
