Alvina (Vanne) Kalcik, peacefully passed away at the age of 97 on April 11, 2024 joining her beloved parents; husband, George Kalcik; 12 siblings; former husband, Lawrence Mitcheltree; son, Louis Mitcheltree; and daughter, Joan Welnicke.
Born in Niagara, Wisconsin to Albert and Irene (Lesperance) Vanne, Alvina moved at a very young age with her 12 siblings to Two Rivers, Wisconsin. At the age of 18, Alvina started a 42-year career at the Mirro Company, dedicating herself to her work until retirement. Her devotion extended beyond her professional life; she cherished her husband, children and her grandchildren. Her spare time was spent cooking and baking for the family. Known for her culinary skills, Alvina delighted in cooking and baking her famous cookies, especially during holidays. She found joy treasure hunting at weekend yard sales with her grandchildren. Her creative spirit flourished in ceramic classes, where she mastered the art of painting beautiful pieces. Each birthday and holiday became an opportunity to share her creations, gifting family and friends with her ceramic artwork. Alvina's faith was a cornerstone of her life, as a devoted member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
Alvina leaves behind her loving daughter, Linda Stoehr; son-in-law, Steve Welnicke; daughter-in-law, Helen Mitcheltree; and cherished grandchildren: Steven (Carrie) Welnicke , Keith (Jennifer) Welnicke , Jodi (Anthony) Fowler, Lisa Eckhart , Chad Krueger, Christopher Mitcheltree , Scott and Dawn Ferguson; her great-grandchildren: Ashley and Dillon Welnicke, Jordan and Ethan Welnicke, Braden Fowler, and Beckham Eckhart, along with a host of extended family and friends.
