Andrew “Drew” Tegen, age 46 of Chicago, died unexpectedly on July 31, 2024.
Drew was born April 12, 1978 in Two Rivers, son of Daniel and Collette Tegen. He lived in Chicago for the past 16 years.
Drew was a 1996 graduate of Roncalli High School and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee. He was most recently employed by BP at the Whiting, Indiana refinery. Prior to that he was a Public Safety Officer at Marquette University. As an 8th grader, Drew had the honor of representing the Herald Times Reporter at the National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC.
Drew was a kind-hearted man who looked out for anyone who needed help. He was friendly and genuine and could make anyone feel safe in his presence. He loved to share a good meal with friends and family. Drew especially loved to travel, with Puerto Vallarta being his favorite destination. His sense of humor was legendary, quirky, and infectious. Most of all, Drew was loved intensely by all those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Dan and Collette Tegen, Drew is survived by his sister, Sarah Tegen (Bill Cook); his brother, Josh Tegen (Sarah); nieces and nephew: Alyssa, Abby, and AJ Tegen; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Helen Herlache and Milton and Donna Tegen; one uncle, Peter Tegen; and a cousin, Laura Herlache.
A celebration of Drew’s life will be held at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Dave Pleier will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be no evening visitation.
