Ardis A. Honzik

Ardis A. Honzik, age 93, formerly of Two Rivers, died Thursday, January 6, 2022, surrounded by family, at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Ardis was born on October 11, 1928, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Frederick and Leona (Petri) Geimer. She graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1946. On September 29, 1951, she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Honzik by Father Beth at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2004. Ardis and Joe traveled throughout the world following Joe’s retirement and loved time spent in the North Woods. She cherished time spent with family, enjoyed her sheepshead card club, polka dancing and bowling. Ardis was an avid Packer fan and would have loved to see them win the Super Bowl this year. She was a member of the Ladies of Holy Redeemer/St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Churches, the “Red Hatters” and a choir that sang to shut-ins.
Survivors include her children: JoAnne and Ted Schoenke of Francis Creek, Pete and Christine Honzik, Fran and Mary Jo Honzik, all of Manitowoc, John and Cathi Honzik of Crystal Falls, Mich., and Ellie Honzik of Austin, Tex.; four grandchildren: Brian (Angie) Mehlhorn, Anna Honzik, Matthew (Diane) Honzik and Stephanie Honzik; four great grandchildren: Mallory, Marissa, Lillian and Luke Mehlhorn; and a brother: Frederick Geimer, Jr.; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Mark Rudebeck.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.

Memorials in Ardis’ name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Railroad Museum.

The Honzik family extends a special thank you to the staff and residents at Whitetail Estates and her special friend, Vern, as they were all like family to mom and also the staff at MHCC for the wonderful care she was given.
