Art C. Heyroth

July 3, 1925 — July 7, 2023

Art C. Heyroth, lifelong resident of Mishicot, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, July 7, 2023 at Frontida Assisted Living of Manitowoc, just 4 days following his 98th birthday.

Art was born at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc on July 3rd, 1925 to Arthur and Julia (Samz) Heyroth. He attended schools in Mishicot. On August 23, 1958, he was united in marriage to Doris M. Blasczyk at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple raised their family in Mishicot and enjoyed many years of traveling together. Doris preceded him in death on March 19, 2002.

At an early age, Art drove a can milk route for the Saxonburg Cheese Factory. When Lake to Lake Dairy Co-op was started in the mid 1940's, he bought his own truck and picked up milk in the Mishicot/Two Rivers area. When bulk tanks came about, he sold his route and began his career driving truck for Les Johnson of Denmark, which later became Geo Clark Transit out of Manitowoc. His favorite job, until his retirement was delivering bag cement to the local area lumber company. Art also ran the Heyroth  Family Homestead Farm from 1960 to 1972 in partnership with his brother, Richard.

Art's favorite pastime was making firewood, burning wood & cutting logs in "the farm" woods with his brother. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling with his brother after the death of his wife; and attending the Lake to Lake Milk Haulers Reunions. He was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot; an honorary lifetime member and the last surviving charter member of the Mishicot Sportsman's Club; and charter member of the Mishicot-Tisch Mills Knights of Columbus, Holy Cross Council #4807.

He is survived by three children: Mary Ellen (Paul) Becker of Two Rivers, Kenneth Heyroth of Mishicot, and Nancy (Brett) Jensen of Sobieski; five grandchildren: Amber (Matt) Gates, Adam (Sondra) Becker, Cassie (Matt) Faust, Orenda Jensen, Hannah Jensen; and one great-grandchild, Julian John. Art is further survived by one brother, Richard Heyroth of Mishicot; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Schultz of Two Rivers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Julia Heyroth; his wife, Doris; one infant son, John; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Heyroth; along with many other in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Fr. Christian Raj, with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
