Aurora J. Hernandez

Aurora Joan Baca Hernandez, age 93, was called to heaven on December 13, 2021.
Aurora was born on November 14, 1928, in El Paso, Texas. Her family soon moved to Chicago, Ill. She lived most of her life there, but later moved to Mexico City, where she worked at Reforma Hotel as a travel agent. She met her future husband, Alberto Hernandez, in Mexico City. They moved back to Chicago and had two children, Albert Joseph and Monica Ann. They all moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Aurora worked as a manager for Casual Corner.
She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, love of family and love of friends.
Aurora is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Monica and Preston Amond of Two Rivers; her son: Albert J. Hernandez of San Diego; her family: Josephine Mejia, Edna Baca, Joseph Baca, Jr. and Joseph (Eileen) Baca; along ith many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Alberto; sister: Amy (William) Cattaneo and in-laws: Ralph Mejia and Dorothy Baca.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
