Bernice L. Mueller, age 96, of Two Rivers, died Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2023, with her family at her side, at Hamilton Health Services, Two Rivers.
Bernice was born on April 20, 1927, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Henry and Augusta (Prestein) Rusboldt. She was baptized at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and attended St. John’s Grade School. Bernice graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1946. On November 25, 1948, she married Wallace “Wally” Mueller at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Walter Haase presided at the ceremony. Wally preceded her in death on March 19, 2008. Following high school, Bernice was employed at Schwartz Mfg. for a few years. She later worked for many years at Machut’s Supper Club. Bernice was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an accomplished bowler, traveling throughout the country with her teammates participating in national tournaments, enjoyed playing cards and was a huge Milwaukee Brewers fan.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Lee and Suellen Mueller of Milwaukee, Wayne and Nancy Mueller and Todd and Rhonda “Roni” Mueller, all of Two Rivers; daughter and son-in-law: Gail and Steve Hanzek of Neenah: seven grandchildren: Christine and Kevin Tubbs, Nicole and John Tindall, Heidi and Andrew Mehan, Bryant and Crystal Mueller, and Carrie, Rachel and Lillian Hanzek; eight great grandchildren: Henry and Benjamin Tindall, Mason, Olivia, Sawyer and Finley Mehan, and Theodore and Elliot Mueller. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Edith Rusboldt and Eva Mueller; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by a brother: Henry Rusboldt; sister: Betty (Erhardt) Zermuehlen and infant sister: Grace Rusboldt.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3607 45th St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Stephen Kruschel with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
Memorials in Bernice’s name may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
