Bette J. Vogel

Bette Vogel was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She left this world suddenly on August 23, 2023, at age 82.
She was born to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Rezabek) Hamernik on April 5, 1941, in Manitowoc. After graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959, Bette worked at the London House in Milwaukee where shortly thereafter she met and married her husband, Jim Vogel, at St. Clement Church in Sheboygan. Jim and Bette celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on August 4th.
Bette had a lifelong passion for buying and selling antiques. She enjoyed cooking and creating delicious meals for her family. She loved spending time with her husband Jim and whenever you saw one, you would surely always find the other. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother. Vacations to Florida brought her great joy. Bette had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was a generous and loving soul and made friends wherever she went.
Survivors include her husband: James Vogel; her children: Mark (Teresa) Vogel of Brookfield, WI, Cheryl Fontinel of Florida and Peggy Vogel of Chicago; her granddaughter: Alicia Vogel; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Earl and Art Hamernik and a sister, Lorraine Denk.
A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Dave Pleier, was held on Friday, August 25, 2023; at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc, with entombment following the service.
