Carol M. Gagnon

Carol M. Gagnon, age 90, lifetime resident of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, November 16, 2023 at Meadow View Assisted Living with family at her side.

Carol was born in Two Rivers on August 2, 1933 to Erwin and Gertrude (Wachowski) Zimmer. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1951. On November 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Gagnon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Robert preceded her in death on January 1, 1992.

Carol worked endlessly raising her family. Later on she was employed outside the home as a lunch supervisor at Magee Elementary School. She also worked along side her husband, Robert, at the Gagnon Drug Store, and later at other pharmacies in Two Rivers. As a longtime member of Holy Redeemer/St. Peter the Fisherman Parishes, she volunteered many hours at the church in various capacities and also served as a former Sunday School teacher. She had a large circle of friends with whom she enjoyed daily walks at the community house, followed by a morning stop at McDonald's. She also enjoyed luncheons with high school friends and helped in organizing many of their class reunion events. Carol loved shopping and especially enjoyed stopping at garage sales where she could always find a treasure or two to add to her collections. Carol had a special touch for growing beautiful orchids for many years and in her younger days made time to crochet many items for her family and friends. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed hosting family holidays and birthday parties where she made a point to make everyone feel her love.

Survivors include her three daughters: Ann (Joseph) Toonen of Appleton, Lisa Tiedt of Madison, Lori (Shawn) Conley of Madison; seven grandchildren: Mikayla and Alex Toonen, Myckie Gagnon-LeBotte, Madeline and Emerson Tiedt, Haila and Aliah Conley. She is further survived by two brothers & four sisters-in-law: Ken Zimmer, Wayne (Sue) Zimmer, Peggy Zimmer, Arlene Gagnon, and Val Gagnon. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Gertrude Zimmer; her husband, Robert J. Gagnon; four sons: David, Ricky, Tom and Jim Gagnon; one son-in-law, Randy Tiedt; one brother, Erv Zimmer; one sister & brother-in-law, Joyce (Don) Benzschawel; sister-in-law, Dory Zimmer; and father & mother-in-law, George and Anna Gagnon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish Friday from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
