Carol Rabitz

April 12, 1945 — August 6, 2024

Carol M. Rabitz, age 79, resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, with her family at her side.

Carol was born in Two Rivers on April 12, 1945 to Andrew L. and Mildred (Brusky) Rathsack. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School and Washington High School in Two Rivers. On April 24, 1965, she married Richard W. Rabitz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Richard preceded her in death on January 29, 2011. Carol worked for various businesses over the years which included Cher-Make Sausage Company, FS Feed Mill in Larrabee, and many years at Lab-Core Corp. until her retirement. She was an active volunteer at her church - St. Peter the Fisherman Parish; proud member of the Red-Hatters Club; and longtime member of the Two Rivers Senior Center where she enjoyed calling Bingo. She also enjoyed her Book Club, and playing cards & Mahjong with her friends. Above all, she cherished the time with her granddaughters, never missing a musical, band performance, or sporting event. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters & son-in-law: Marcia (Dennis) Rabas of Maribel, Jody Rabitz of Manitowoc; and her two granddaughters, Chloe and Sydney Rabas. She is further survived by her sister, Margaret Patek of Manitowoc; two brothers & sister-in-law: Andy Rathsack of Springfield, IL and Tony (Kathy) Rathsack of Two Rivers; one brother-in-law, John (Mary Ann) Rabitz of Mishicot; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Richard, she was also preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Brenda Rathsack; brothers-in-law: Leo Patek, Jerry (Francine) Rabitz; and a nephew, Corey Rabitz.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Saturday morning from 8:30 until 10:15 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the 3rd floor nursing staff at Aurora Medical Center and the caregivers of Aurora Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care extended to Carol. Special thanks also to Carol's friends and neighbors who were always there to watch over her and help in many ways. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.
