Darlene E. Guehlstorf, age 88 of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, October 1, 2024 at the Wisteria Haus with her family at her side.
Darlene was born in Manitowoc on April 6, 1936 to Arthur and Agnes (Goessl) Posvic and was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On May 21, 1960 she married Cortland J. Guehlstorf in Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1975. Over the years Darlene worked for several Two Rivers businesses which included Mirro, Twin Rivers Improvements, and retired from Hamilton Industries. She enjoyed playing cards (especially sheepshead), mini-bowling, reading, crocheting, and doing puzzles, but above all cherished the time spent with her family, especially watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Mark and Jan Guehlstorf; daughter & son-in-law, Gina and Daryl Hassemer; and son-in-law, Greg Gates (special friend, Jane), all of Two Rivers; her grandchildren: Matthew (Amber) Gates and their son, Julian; Danica (Maddie) Rigel; Miranda Guehlstorf (special friend, Brett) and his daughters, Kinleigh and Everly; Jon Hassemer; Bryce Hassemer (special friend, Valerie) and her son, Barrett; and Alesha Hassemer (special friend, Katie); along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Agnes Posvic; her husband, Cortland; a daughter, Amy Gates; one grandson, Zach Gates; and seven siblings.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers, Monday, October 7, 2024 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. led by Deacon Mark Knipp, with burial to follow in Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.
