David Flentje

David L. Flentje, age 87 of Manitowoc, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, August 4, 2023.

David was born in Two Rivers on April 23, 1936 to Howard and Beulah (Hallada) Flentje. He was a graduate of Mishicot High School in 1954, then served our country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy. David worked for the Manitowoc Company for 42 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed fishing & hunting - especially in Wabeno with friends; and loved spending time at the cottage in Little Sturgeon.

He is survived by his son, Jeff Flentje of Mishicot; two brothers: Al (Elaine) Flentje, and Hank Flentje, all of Mishicot; one niece, Beth Flentje (special friend, Mitch Schwake); and nephews: Douglas Flentje and his son, Brice (fiance, Arianna Willert), Randy Flentje (special friend, Julie Jergenson), Todd Flentje (special friend, Amy Treece) and their daughter, Alex Flentje, her son, Gage, and her (special friend, Jace Bisonette); Scott Flentje, Troy (Bobbie) Flentje and children: Seth, Krista & Kayla, and Brett (Diane) Flentje. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Beulah Flentje; and one brother, Thomas "Spunt" Flentje.

Private funeral services were held for David on Thursday, August 10th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, with military honors accorded by members of VFW Post #7753 of Mishicot.
