David J. Philipps, age 68, lifetime resident of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully at home early Tuesday morning, February 11, 2025.
David was born in Two Rivers on November 1, 1956 to Gilbert R. and Mary Ann (Buenzow) Philipps. He attended St. Luke's Catholic School and graduated with the class of 1975 from Washington High School. He then furthered his education at Lakeshore Technical College where he earned an accounting degree. Dave was employed with Manitowoc Ice for 43 years, retiring as Data Integration Manager.
Dave enjoyed many hobbies in his spare time. He loved music, playing his guitar, and attending many concerts. He loved the outdoors - spending time in Point Beach State Forest, hunting, and walking. For three years, he walked 10 miles every day. He enjoyed grilling out, and spending time with his grandchildren. Dave also loved watching all Wisconsin Sports including the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. He always looked forward to visiting the Red Bank Coffee Shop in Two Rivers where he would enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation.
David is survived by his two children: Abigail Philipps (partner, Matthew Robertson) of Denver, CO; Andrew Philipps (fiance, Lori Thomason) of Two Rivers; and his grandchildren: Addison, AJ, and Kaylae. He is further survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: Rick and Sharon Philipps of Norman, Charlie and Cheryl Philipps, Town of Gibson; one brother-in-law, Jim Liebau of Maribel; the mother of his children, Kelly Behringer; along with several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert "DoDo" and Mary Ann Philipps; and his sister, Gail Liebau.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Deacon Tom Tomaszewski will preside at the memorial service. Burial will take place in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Thursday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.

The Philipps family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the medical staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Care Center in Two Rivers. Special thanks also to the caregivers of Aurora at Home Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness extended. The family would also like to acknowledge the many friends and relatives who reached out to Dave with "Get Well Wishes" or messages sent throughout his illness.
