Dorothy J. "Dotty" Rappley

Dorothy J. "Dotty" Rappley, age 87 of Two Rivers, passed away Saturday morning, October 7, 2023 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.

Dorothy was born in Mishicot on August 21, 1936 to Michael J. and Phoebe Ann (Stoneman) Koch. She attended school in Mishicot, graduating from Mishicot High School with the class of 1954. On November 13, 1954, she married Allan W. Basken. The couple divorced in 1968. Dotty married Tom Rappley on January 9, 1981 in Rhinelander. Tom preceded her in death on January 30, 2021.

In addition to raising her family, Dorothy worked for Skwor's Meat Market in her younger days, and later was employed at Mirro Aluminum for many years. Dorothy always looked forward to family gatherings, where she and Tom would prepare a big meal for all to enjoy. They also did a lot of baking together. Many friends and family will remember the delicious apple pies. Dotty also enjoyed her flower gardens, and growing many vegetables; as well as enjoying a good card game when time allowed.

Survivors include her children: Annette Kobriger of Denmark, David "Buzz" (Shirley) Basken of Two Rivers, Barbara (David) Schultz of Two Rivers, Brenda Provot (special friend, Kenny Hottenroth) of Manitowoc, Mark Basken (special friend, Bonnie) of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren, with another expected soon. She is further survived by one sister, Carol Martin of Two Rivers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Phoebe Koch; husband, Tom; a grandson, Brian; great-granddaughter, Gina; her brothers & sisters: DePaul (Bernadette) Koch, Vincent (Rita) and (Eileen) Koch, Aloysius Koch, Eva (Lester) Mach, Kathryn (Ted) Gorny, Mary Jane (Eddie) Geiger, JoAnn Ploeckelman, Rev. Michael Koch, Patricia (Bill) Boring, Elmer (Lucille) Koch; and a brother-in-law, Earl A. Martin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Friday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
