Edith Rusboldt, age 98, longtime Two Rivers resident, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 19, 2023 at Meadow View Assisted Living of Two Rivers.
Edith was born in Manitowoc on November 3, 1924 to Edward and Grace (O'Brien) Barnes. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School and graduated with the class of 1942 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On May 25, 1946, she married Henry W. Rusboldt in Manitowoc. Henry preceded her in death on August 2nd, 2010.
Edith worked in various offices, including Hamilton Mfg. Company, Herald Times Reporter, and the Manitowoc County Community Board. She retired from the Community Board in 1986 as office manager and administrative assistant. She was a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish/St. Peter the Fisherman Parish and belonged to the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Ladies Elks, Woodland Dunes Nature Center, Cool City Garden Club, Friends of the Lester Public Library, Two Rivers Historical Society, Two Rivers Senior Center, the Fox Hills Ladies Golf League, and several bridge groups.
Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law: Tom and Susan Rusboldt of Eau Claire, WI; one daughter & son-in-law, Diane and David McCallum of Libertyville, IL; four grandchildren: Daniel McCallum, Ted (Andrea Mosher) Rusboldt, Bridget (Derek) Nelson, and Nick (Jamy) Rusboldt; along with six great-grandchildren: Cameron, James and Theo Rusboldt; Cash, Shelby and Jack Nelson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Grace Barnes; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Henry and Augusta Rusboldt; her husband, Henry W. Rusboldt; one brother, Jack (Shirley) Barnes; one sister, Helen Sykora; and in-laws: Bernice (Wallace) Mueller, and Betty (Erhardt) Zermuehlen.
Friends and family felt welcomed and loved in Edie's home, where she was always eager to greet those special to her with a sparkling smile, bright eyes and open arms. She knew just how to make those around her feel extra special, interesting and funny. Edie was blessed with the ability to exude incredible warmth and appreciation to her loved ones, and when you were with her it felt like the sun was shining on you. Edie was proud of her Irish heritage and lived it.
Edie was blessed with the health, energy and support to allow her to live in her home until very recently.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Tuesday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.
