Elaine G. Bohacek, age 93, current resident of the Wisteria Haus in Two Rivers, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, March 17, 2025, at Wisteria Haus.
Elaine was born in Whitelaw on March 10, 1932, to Joseph and Agnes (Lemberger) Meidl. She attended eight years of grade school at St. Michael's Catholic School and then entered the work world. She was united in marriage to Raymond W. Bohacek on May 10, 1950, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The couple was blessed with three children and sixty years of marriage. For many years, they also ran the Bohacek Home Farm in the town of Gibson. Ray preceded her in death March 3, 2011. Elaine also worked cleaning homes for many families in the Manitowoc area, earning $1.00/hour and used the money earned to furnish their entire home. She later went on to work at the Metal Ware Corporation in Two Rivers until her retirement. After retiring, Elaine also worked for her sister & brother-in-law at the Galley Restaurant in Manitowoc where she will be most remembered as the BEST Pie and Dessert baker (especially her Banana Cream Pies!)
In her spare time, Elaine enjoyed playing cards, gambling trips, and baking for family. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her dogs.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Steve (Jean) Bohacek of Two Rivers; one daughter & two sons-in-law, Cindy (Lynn) Kolstad of Maribel, Joe (Jane) Koerner of Rochester, MN; her grandchildren: Chad (Gail) Kolstad, Jenny (Benjamin) Cottrill, Sara (Ryan) VanDriel, Lucas (Sara) Koerner, Beth Bohacek (special friend, Jenny), Ben (Kristine) Koerner; and her great-grandchildren: Jack and Bella Kolstad; Samantha and Jacob Cottrill; Logan, Reese, and Reagan Marquardt; Mira, Raelyn, Casey, and Mallory Koerner. She is further survived by one brother & sister-in-law, Roger (Colleen) Meidl; one sister & brother-in-law, Sandy (Gary) Kohlbeck; two sisters-in-law: Bernita Meidl and Anna Bruechert; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Agnes Meidl; her husband, Ray Bohacek; one daughter, Judy Koerner; father & mother-in-law, William and Anna Bohacek; siblings: Monica Pivonka (Gordy), Sally (John) Divita, Mary Ann (Bill) Mutchek, Rita (John) Schuh, Kenny Meidl, Joe (Gessila) Meidl, Jr.; and several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Father Xavier Amirtham, O'Praem will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kellnersville, Friday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
