Elizabeth J. "Betty" Humphreys

February 10, 1928 — June 6, 2021

Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Humphreys transitioned peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, surrounded by family.

Betty was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on February 10, 1928, the second of 10 children born to Frank and Irma (Stoffel) Rank. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1946. She married Donald L. Schettl in 1950 and moved to Two Rivers, where she spent the remainder of her life. After Don’s passing in 1969, Betty married Elijah Humphreys in 1976.

Betty loved to travel and enjoyed visiting Las Vegas, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and visiting a sister in New York. She loved music and attended dances throughout NE Wisconsin, often driving a group of friends until she was no longer able to do so. She loved to jitter bug, polka, and waltz. She loved music from Tom Jones, Trini Lopez, and Frank Sinatra. Betty enjoyed her time working at the Wisconsin Telephone Company and remained friends with many of her coworkers there, spending many happy hours through the years at monthly lunches and annual dinners. Betty also worked at Paragon Electric and Carron Net Company. Later in life, she volunteered at the Two Rivers History Museum. Throughout her life, Betty remained close to her brothers and sisters who lived throughout Wisconsin and the US. She found great joy in their company and reunions along with extended family of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her daughters and spouses, Louise and Michael Kesting, Appleton; Mary and William Flynn, Milwaukee; and Patricia and Patrick Finlan, Rhinelander. Also survived by grandchildren and spouses Steve Kesting, Amy Kesting and Brett Ruland, Libbi Flynn, Margaret (Flynn) and Matt Perley, Rachel (Finlan) and Peter Lindgren, Brett Finlan and fiancé Liz Paronto; along with great grandchildren Amelia and Cecelia Lindgren. Betty is further survived by sister Eunice Coppola, New York; brothers Don (Janice) Rank, North Carolina, Richard Rank, New Berlin; Lloyd (Ruth) Rank, Oshkosh; cousin Bob (Judy) Rank of Two Rivers; and sisters-in-law Karen Rank and Mary (Voboril) Rank along with numerous nieces and nephews.
