Elizabeth J. Roidt, age 94, of Two Rivers, died early Monday morning, August 21, 2023, at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers.
Elizabeth was born on April 3, 1929, in Kewaunee, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (Panosh) Shimanek. She graduated from Kewaunee High School with the Class of 1947 and later earned her medical transcriptionist certification. On July 31, 1948, she married Leonard Roidt in Kewaunee, he preceded her in death on December 31, 1984. Elizabeth worked 30 years at the Two Rivers Hospital and then continued with Woodland Clinic where she retired at age 78. She was the Wisconsin Chapter President of the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists and was an active member of the Two Rivers Senior Center, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2017. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, shopping and crocheting and also enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers.
Survivors include her children: Leonard (Mary Ann) Roidt of Delaware, Ohio, Beverly (Raul) Keip Rodriguez of New Braunfels, Texas, Mary Roidt-Ringhard of Milwaukee, Barbara (Steven) Streubel of Manitowoc and Robert Roidt of Two Rivers; her grandchildren: Matthew Roidt, Bobby Roidt, Joseph Roidt, Aaron (Ashley) Keip, Allison (Josh) Cox, Abby (Sean) Roidt Jurnberg, Elizabeth (Vince) Masterson, Mary (Andrew) Doran, and Emily (Jason) Erickson; her great grandchildren: Charlotte, Madelene, Cambree, Elliott, Troy, Hugh, Oona, Finn, Anna and James; her special companion: Trooper and her brother: Robert (Joanne) Shimanek of Negaunee, Michigan; along with nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother: Victor Shimanek and son-in-law: Steven Keip.
A private family memorial service, celebrated by the Rev. Dave Pleier, will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers.
