Floyd R. Shillcox, age 83 of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, June 29, 2024 at the Hamilton Care Center in Two Rivers.
Floyd was born July 1, 1940 in Seymour, Wisconsin to John and Dorothy (Diedrich) Shillcox. He attended Mishicot High School, then served his country as a member of the U.S. Army (1963-65). He worked as a truck driver for many years with Mirro Aluminum Company until retiring, then worked various part-time jobs. Floyd had many hobbies and enjoyments throughout his life. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing softball, bingo, and playing cards with family, especially sheepshead. He was an all around Wisconsin Sports Fan. He also enjoyed going to the races and drove stock cars for many years. He loved to go to auctions and collecting antiques, and also liked to watch truck & tractor pulls, and enjoyed the time spent with his family. Floyd was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and the Two Rivers Senior Center.
He is survived by two daughters & sons-in-law, Karen and Doug Payette, Lynette and Brian Simonar, all of Two Rivers; three grandchildren: Zachary (Bose') Simonar, Bailey (Zack) Jacobson, Brooke Payette (fiance, Dane Levenhagen); and three great-grandchildren: Octavia, Quinten, and Carmello. He is further survived by three brothers: Donald Shillcox, Sylvester Shillcox, and Stanley Shillcox; one sister, Patricia (Robert) Radue; one sister-in-law, Joann Shillcox; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Shillcox; one brother, Jerry Shillcox; one sister-in-law, Barbara Shillcox; and mother of his daughters, Susan Shillcox.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Tuesday morning, from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.
