Frances F. Doughman, age 89, former Mishicot resident, died Friday December 24, 2021 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Frances was born in Two Rivers on March 21, 1932 to Adam and Agnes Brefczynski Tolksdorf. She married Nelson Ney on September 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1983. She later married Gladwyn Doughman who also preceded her in death on October 10, 2016. Frances was employed by the Mirro Corporation for many years. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, where she for many years distributed communion to the homebound. She enjoyed listening to Polka music and was a member of the Happy Hoppers Dance Club. She was also a Cub Scout Leader for many years. Frances enjoyed crafting, traveling and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: John Ney of Seymour, and his special friend Marcie, Bruce and Linda Ney of Manitowoc, Bill and Donna Ney of Two Rivers, Gerard and Miri Ney of Melnik, Michael Ney of Two Rivers, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frances is also survived by her step-children: Mike (Connie) Doughman of GA, Dean Doughman of MI, David Doughman of GA, and Donata (Chris) Sorensen of WA; one brother, Anton (Dolores) Tolksdorf of Two Rivers; two sisters: Esther Kolaczkowski of Illinios, Cel (Ken) Fessler of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Ney; and by several brothers and sisters.
A private family memorial Mass was held on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Rev. John Becker presided at the service, with burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
