Gerald J. "Jerry" Meneau

Gerald J. "Jerry" Meneau, age 88 of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024 at Meadow View Assisted Living of Two Rivers.

Jerry was born in Two Rivers on November 16, 1935 to John and Helena (Molls) Meneau. He attended grade school at St. Mark's and St. Luke's Catholic Schools, and graduated with the class of 1954 from Washington High School. Jerry served his country from 1954-1956 as a member of the U.S. Army. For most of that time he was stationed in Regansburg, Germany. On September 7, 1957, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Terens at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. The couple was blessed with four children and 66 years of marriage.

In his younger days Jerry worked for several area businesses which included Hamilton's, Mirro and Cool City Cleaners. He was then hired by the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for many years, retiring as Postmaster of the Cleveland Post Office in 1991. Jerry and Kathy enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter & son-in-law, Debra and Don Knudsen of Two Rivers; two sons & three daughters-in-law: Kevin and Sue Meneau of Missouri, Mark and Renee Meneau of DePere, and Glenda Meneau of Alabama; seven grandchildren: Azurine (Jay) Pare, Tamara (Sean) Claire, Jacob Meneau, Emily and Eric Meneau, Lauren and Gabrielle Meneau; and seven great-grandchildren: Elliana, Amelia, Penelope, Evelyn, Oliver, Carly, and Everlee. He is further survived by two brothers: Dale Meneau and Gary (Judy) Meneau; two sisters: Dorothy Reno and Julie (Ron) Swanson; along with three brothers-in-law: David (Lorraine) Terens, Jerry (Jan) Terens, and Kenny Zimmer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helena Meneau; one son, Dean; father-in-law & mother-in-law: Ralph and Viola Terens; two brothers and two sisters: Creighton (Arlene) Meneau, Jack Meneau, Betty (Addy) Wood, Joyce (LaVerne) Bohm; and a sister-in-law, Doris Zimmer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Pleier will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial, with military honors at the church immediately following the mass by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers. Entombment will take place in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
