Gladys Rae (Peterson) Schultz, age 91, formerly of Two Rivers, died peacefully Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023 at the Villas (Felician Village), in Manitowoc under Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Care.
Gladys was born January 12, 1932 in Rockford, Illinois to Harold and Mary Peterson. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On November 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Jerry Schultz at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Two Rivers. She worked part time in the medical field and volunteered with many different organizations.
Gladys was a homemaker, as well as a wonderful cook and baker. Her family and faith were always a priority. “She was always there for anybody in need.” She was very active in her church and a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman. Gladys also enjoyed teaching high school Religious Ed. She enjoyed the many sheepshead and bridge marathon groups, and loved to play cribbage. She especially enjoyed the women’s monthly bridge club.
Gladys and Jackie Dickenshied started the Road Runner Travel Business. They enjoyed travel here and abroad. Gladys was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved attending concerts, plays, and listening to Jerry play in the Two Rivers Municipal Band. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and Grand Dogs: Piper, Wilbur, and Bailey.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Paula and Lonnie Draheim of Manitowoc, Karen and Steve Doerr of Naperville, Ill; four grandchildren: Heather (Zak) Domrath, Tyler (Amanda) Draheim, Abbie (Bryan) Thompson, and Andy Doerr; great-grandchildren include: Lindsey and Maddie Domrath; Ava, Mason, and Lucy Draheim; Lily and Eliana Thompson. She is further survived by a brother, Don (Jeanne) Peterson of Pewaukee, WI; three sisters: Bernita (Jack) Kuntze of Rockford, IL, Priscilla (Hal) Mapes of McKenney, TX, and Sande Peterson of Rockford, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Peterson; her husband, Jerry; a granddaughter, Lindsey Draheim; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Marie Schultz; and one sister, Jean (Ken) Schmitt.
Funeral services for Gladys will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Matt Colle, assisted by Deacon Paul Gleichner. A private burial will be held on Saturday morning at Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Friday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

A heartfelt thanks also to special friends Erin & Sid who brightened Mom's days for several years with their many visits and time spent playing fun games with her. She always appreciated your friendship.
