Gladys M. Witak

Gladys M. Witak, age 91, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 7, 2024 at Harbor View Assisted Living of Manitowoc.

Gladys was born May 30, 1932 to Walter and Marcella (Wier) Cornils. On June 18, 1949, she married Victor Witak at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. He preceded her in death in 1990. Gladys was employed at Mirro Aluminum for 22 years until retiring in 1996. She enjoyed baking, gardening, camping, fishing, playing bingo, word searches, and loved the Game Shows Network. Gladys also enjoyed a good old fashion!

Survivors include her seven children: Nancy (Tom) Carviou of Marinette, Tom (Sally) Witak, Richard (Sue) Witak, all of Oshkosh, Cheryl Miller (special friend, Lee Landt) of New London, Steve Witak, Dave (Tina) Witak, all of Two Rivers, and Ron (Kim) Witak of Maribel; 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by five sisters: Mary Jane Pond, JoAnn (Dale) Henry, Karen (Larry) Teesch, Connie (John) McNellis, Barbara (Wayne) Gallas; two brothers, James (Mona) Cornils, Rich (Roxane) Cornils; and a sister-in-law, Irene Cornils; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marcella Cornils; her husband, Victor Witak; a granddaughter, Baby Angela Carviou; a grandson, Nathan Wilson; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Peter and Mary Witak; two brothers, Paul Cornils and John Cornils; sister & brother-in-law, Marlene (Ed) Bessler; and other in-laws: Eleanora (Oscar) Scheatz, Roy (Lucille) Rezek, Adolph (Alice) Witak, Marcella (Victor) Wanek, and Dave Pond.

The family will greet relatives and friends, Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street, Mishicot from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with a memorial service held at 6 o'clock. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc at a later date.
