Glenn J. Moder

Glenn J. Moder, age 95, rural Manitowoc resident, died early Friday morning, May 17, 2024 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Glenn was born in Bear Creek, WI on March 18, 1929 to George and Loretta (Thebo) Moder. He was a graduate of Clintonville High School, and served his country as a member of the United State Navy from 1947 to 1953. Glenn married Myrna Mae Bork on September 23, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the town of DuPont. Myrna preceded him in death March 17, 2023.

After his honorable discharge from military service, Glenn worked for a short time at Mirro Aluminum, then attended Barber School in Milwaukee and eventually opened up his own Barber Shop in the early 60's. He was barber and good friend to many customers throughout the years until his retirement. Glenn enjoyed playing cards, especially sheepshead and cribbage, and loved to stop at rummage sales.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Michelle and Joe Hearley; grandson, Jacob; and granddaughter, Emily (fiance, Kevin). He is further survived by one sister, Polly Rodgers; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Nancy, Mary Ann, Mary, and Patricia Moder; Donna (Dave) Behnke, and Bill Bork. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, George and Loretta Moder; father and mother-in-law, William and Edna Bork; siblings: Lyle Moder, Leonard (Alice) Moder, Susie (Evan) Rogers, Wesley Moder, Wayne Moder, Charles Moder, Ronald Moder; and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Norman Rodgers, Eileen (Donald) Lemke, Byron Bork, Duaine Bork, Judy Bork, Robert Krueger, Arlyn Bork, Jen and Karen Bork.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Pleier will officiate at the service, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will take place at the funeral home immediately following the service by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.
