On December 29, 2024, Jacob J. "Jake" Herrmann, age 34 was called home to be with his dad, whom he loved and missed his whole life.
Jacob was born July 23, 1990 to Jeffrey Herrmann and Shelley Herrmann-Katz. He graduated from Valders High School with the class of 2009. After graduation Jacob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for three years. He was honorably discharged in 2012.
Jacob's passion was racing, whether it was a car, snowmobile, dirt bike, or go cart. If it moved, he raced it; if it was junk, he fixed it until he could race it. Jacob also had a passion for kids. He loved being with kids teaching and sharing his mechanical intelligence. Jacob would also help children who could not afford riding or racing gear and donated all of his past gear to help them ride safely. Jacob was in the process of starting a program to donate used gear to help those in need.
Jacob was also a practical jokester just like his dad. Many people can think back and laugh at the pranks he pulled, especially his brother Jeff and his nephew Blake, whom he loved with all of his heart.
Jacob is survived by his mother Shelley Herrmann-Katz; stepfather, Dr. Christopher Katz; brother, Jeff (Alicia) Gintner; and a very special nephew, Blake Gintner.
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Donna Fischer; uncles: Dan, Randy (Lori) and Chris (Diane) Gintner; and aunts: Susan Traeger and Jane (Gary) Dworak; cousins: Steve (Jenny) Baumann, Sara Baumann, Nathan Gintner and his fianc'e Deanna Rumppe, Kelsey (Joe) Tienor, Madelyn Gintner, Rachel (Alex) Orlando, Michael (Kristine) Traeger and Julie Pearson; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Herrmann; his paternal grandparents, John J. and Margaret Herrmann; his maternal grandfather, Louis B. Gintner; his uncle Thomas P. Gintner; and his 4 legged friend Betty.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers, Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A memorial service will close the visitation at the church, beginning at 12:00 noon, followed by military honors by American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Branch Evergreen Cemetery.
Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.dejamartin.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be used to start a program in memory of Jacob to help children and young adults ride safely.
Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels of Two Rivers is assisting the Herrmann-Katz family with funeral arrangements.
Jacob had a heart of gold. If anyone needed help with something he was right there, yet never asked anyone to return the favor for himself. You will never meet a better person with a bigger heart.
