Jacqueline Sosnosky

March 14, 1931 — March 19, 2025

Two Rivers

On March 19, 2025, Jacqueline Sosnosky peacefully fell asleep in Jesus at Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Jacque was born in the town of Two Rivers to Carl and Leona (Mueller) Nickels on March 14, 1931. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1949. On February 6, 1951, Jacque married Bernard Schwarz. Together they had four sons: Carl, John, Michael, and Richard.

Jacque was a hard worker and embraced the opportunities to learn in life. She managed motherhood and intermittent jobs at Mirro Corporation and later Plumb and Nelson. She worked at Eastmans for 18 years. During that time, she decided to pursue a college education and graduated from Lakeshore Technical College in 1985. Jacque went on to retire after 13 years at the Kewaunee Nuclear Plant.

On January 19, 1991 she married John Sosnosky. Though words didn’t often say, she was forever grateful for all of his love and companionship through sickness and health until his passing. The pride and joy in Jacque’s life was always her family. Her favorite hobby was crocheting and she challenged herself to crochet a blanket for each new great-grandchild that was born. John preceded her in death on February 20, 2023.

She is survived by three sons: John Schwarz Sr. of Two Rivers, Michael Schwarz of Manitowoc, Richard (Laura) Schwarz of Manitowoc; twelve grandchildren: Nicole (Kevin) Wunder, Christopher (Katie) Schwarz, Rachel Schwarz, Rebecca (Luigi) Luzzi, Amanda (Francois) Comeau, John Schwarz Jr., Candida (Steven) Rank, Pamela (Dwayne) Moreau, Peter Schwarz, Elaina (Ryan) Phipps, Danielle (Andrew) Plagenz, Dixon (Samantha) Schwarz; and thirty-one great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Lois (Ev) Lau, Roger (Judi) Nickels, Larry (Marie) Nickels, Gerry (Caryn) Nickels, Barbara (Ken) Wieczorkowski; brother-in-law, Paul (Judy) Sosnosky; nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends. Jacque was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son & daughter-in-law, Carl "Chuck" (Virginia "Ginger") Schwarz; grandson, Eric Schwarz; great-grandson, Noah Peplinski; brother, Charles "Sonny" (Mary Alice) Nickels; brother-in-law, Glenn (Faye) Sosnosky; sister-in-law, Jean (Charles) Vergetis; and former brothers-in-law: William (Betty) Schwarz and Robert (Ilene) Schwarz.
