James W. "Jimmy" Vanne, age 76, lifelong resident of Two Rivers, died late Monday night, December 23, 2024 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.

Jimmy was born in Two Rivers on May 5, 1948 to Raymond and Rita (Lesperance) Vanne. He attended St. Luke's Catholic Grade School, and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1967. On June 27, 1970, he married the former Lois J. Vandenhouten at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Luxemburg. Jimmy worked for several years at Formrite Company in Two Rivers, and later was employed with Lap Core Plastics in Manitowoc for many years. He also worked part-time for Twin Cities Marina for several years. Jimmy was an all around handyman finding snow-removal jobs, lawncare jobs, and helping anyone in need. He loved fishing in his spare time, and was a former member of the Eagle's Club. His greatest love was the time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; two daughters & sons-in-law, Lisa and Greg Gehrke, Linda and Shane Peterson; four grandchildren: James (Danielle) Gehrke, Kayla Vanne (Scott) Shimkus, Miranda Vanne (Mike), Kaidience Peterson; and nine great-grandchildren: Christopher, Mason, Lucas, Gracelynn, Zoey, Zayleah, Navy, Charlie, and Zyliss. He is further survived by one brother, Robert Vanne; one sister & brother-in-law, Diane Veine (husband, Robert Lawler); brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Glenn (Candice) Vandenhouten, Daniel (Judy) Vandenhouten, Cynthia Vandenhouten (husband, John Compton), Debra (Leonard) Jensen, Loris Mueller, Chris (James) Fiala: along with many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Rita Vanne; three sisters: Lorraine Schultz, Jeanette Dewey, and Joan Hanes; five brothers & six sisters-in-law: Harold Vanne, Edwin (Doris) Vanne, Dickie (Shirley) Vanne, Donnie (Carol) Vanne, Randy (Anna Marie) Vanne, Bonnie Vanne, and Gayla Vandenhouten; several nieces & nephews, great-nieces; and his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Elgie and LaVerne Vandenhouten.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Tuesday morning, from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.

The Vanne family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caring staff at Froedtert Holy Family Cardiac ICU, and the entire staff at Bellin Hospital ICU for the compassionate care & kindness extended to Jimmy and our entire family.
