Joanne L. DuBois, age 87, former Mishicot resident, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Dimensions Living in Appleton.
Joanne was born in Fond du Lac, WI on April 5, 1937 to Walter and Minnie (Seresse) Siewert. She graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac and on August 21, 1959 was united in marriage to Donald G. DuBois in Fond du Lac. Joanne worked for several years at Fond du Lac Clinic and after the couple moved to Mishicot, worked for many years in the cafeteria at the OH Schultz Elementary School in Mishicot. Donald preceded her in death on February 16, 2017.
Joanne was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Two Rivers; she enjoyed working around her yard, her flowers, and watching the birds - she especially enjoyed the Orioles. Joanne always loved decorating for the holidays, and in her younger days, enjoyed camping with family and friends.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Steven and Linda DuBois, Village of Fox Crossing; two grandsons: Michael (Sarah) DuBois of Neenah, Patrick (Kelsey) DuBois of Plymouth; and two great-granddaughters, Madelyn and Samantha. She is further survived by one sister, Phyllis Rasmussen of Nashville; and one sister-in-law, Diane Siewert of Belle Vista, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Minnie Siewert; her husband, Donald DuBois; one brother, Robert Siewert; and a brother-in-law, Willard Rasmussen.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street in Mishicot. Memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Dave Pleier will preside at the service, with burial in Estabrooks Cemetery, Fond du Lac.
