John E. "Jack" Goedjen

December 25, 1931 — April 18, 2024

John E. "Jack" Goedjen, age 92, lifelong resident of Two Rivers, died peacefully Thursday morning, April 18, 2024 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Jack was born in Two Rivers on December 25, 1931 to John and Laura (Becker) Goedjen. He was a 1950 graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he also played basketball. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, mainly stationed in Panama during the Korean Conflict. On June 26, 1954, he married Maureen M. Allie at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. She preceded him in death September 17, 2005.

Jack worked as a salesman for Clem Becker Meats for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, and in his younger days enjoyed playing tennis and basketball. He was also an avid stamp collector.

Survivors include his daughter, Holly Stephens, and her children: Jennifer Stephens, Leslie (Matt) Stevens, and Eric (Kassidi) Stephens; his sons: Mark (Penny) Goedjen, and their children: Sarah Goedjen (Robert Grutzius), Paul Goedjen and Phillip Goedjen; John (Karin) Goedjen, and their children: Max Goedjen, Anna (Mohammad) Kassim, Grant Goedjen and Jackson Goedjen; Lee Goedjen; and Thomas Goedjen (Jennifer Esch), and his children: Victoria Goedjen (Tyler Lull), Alexis (Michael) Holzem, and Brandon Goedjen; nine great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, Allan Engelland. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura Goedjen; his wife, Maureen "Renee" Goedjen; and two sisters: Ruth Ann Mueller, Mary Lou Engelland; and a brother-in-law, Duane "Doc" Mueller.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers on Friday evening, May 17, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 o'clock, led by Pastor Colie Bettivia.

A private graveside burial service will take place on Saturday, May 18th at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post # 1248 of Two Rivers.
