John I. "Jack" Sosnosky

November 25, 1931 — February 20, 2023

On Monday, February 20, 2023, John I. Sosnosky was called to eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jack was born on November 25, 1931, in Two Rivers, the son of the late Maximillian and Mercedes (Tuch) Sosnosky. He received baptism, made his First Communion, was confirmed and was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s Catholic Parish in Two Rivers and continued his membership with the consolidation to St. Peter the Fisherman. Jack graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School in1950. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. Jack moved out to California where he was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach and ABC Paramount Records. He enjoyed his frequent run-ins with many of Hollywood’s famous stars.
On January 19, 1991, he married Jacqueline C. Nickel-Schwarz. Through marriage he inherited a large family - 4 sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved being called “Grandpa” and “Opa” and was always excited to see the new babies and treasured the times spent visiting and watching all the children grow. After 31 years of dedicated employment, Jack retired from Paragon.
Jack was a man of many passions, interests, talents and hobbies. He loved to travel (especially to Arizona), enjoyed riding his bike, listening to music, dancing the night away, and of course, caring for all of God’s creatures, whether they were his own pets, the backyard birds and rabbits, or the lovely animals at the Humane Society. He loved them all. He also enjoyed people and the many friendships he created throughout the years. He loved their company, whether it was exercising at the Wellness Center, ice skating at the Expo Center, volunteering at the Washington House, visiting the nursing homes or enjoying coffee on a Sunday morning at McDonald’s or Two Rivers Family Restaurant.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years: Jacqueline Sosnosky; two brothers: Glenn (special friend, Doreen) Sosnosky and Paul (Judy) Sosnosky; nieces and nephews: Glen (Ann) Sosnosky II, Cheryl (Roger) Siddons, Matthew (Mary) Sosnosky, Kay (Dave) Schmitz, Mary (Steve) Eis, Robert (fiancé’, Deborah) Sosnosky, Lynn Sosnosky, Lori Schroeder and Charles (Sandy) Vergetis, Jr.; inherited sons: John Schwarz, Sr., Michael Schwarz and Richard (Laura) Schwarz and their families; along with great nieces and great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
