John J. Neuchter

John J. Neuchter, age 75 of Mishicot, passed away early Monday morning, October 16, 2023 at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

John was born in Door County on January 29, 1948 to John and Isabel (Liebl) Neuchter. He graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1966, then went on to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he attended a technical school to earn a degree in drafting. John worked his entire career as a draftsman for Manitowoc Engineering, Paper Converting Machine Co. of Green Bay, and retiring from Jacobs Engineering of Appleton.

On August 24, 1979 he was united in marriage to Margaret M. Massman at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Margaret preceded him in death on January 27, 2019. John and Margaret enjoyed watching Bucks basketball and Packer football together; John also enjoyed riding in his Corvette, deer hunting in his younger days, and loved his English Springer Spaniels he had over the years.

Survivors include his son, Bill Neuchter of Mishicot; one sister, Agnes Petersen of Racine; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Robert Green of Two Rivers, Jim Morrow, Kathleen (Gary) Yanda, Joan (Bob) Kellner, all of Manitowoc; Peter Massman of Rockwood, James Hill of Reedsville; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Isabel Neuchter; his wife, Margaret; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Walter and Elizabeth Massman; brothers and sisters: Joseph J. Neuchter, August Neuchter, Annabelle Green, Shirley Morrow; and in-laws: Bob Petersen, Jean Hill, and Charlotte Baker.

A memorial mass will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Christian Raj, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m.
