Joseph C. Sippel

Joseph C. Sippel, age 81, of Kiel, died Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023, at the Hamilton Home, Two Rivers.
Joseph was born on August 16, 1942, a son of the late Claudius and Lucille (Kohlmann) Sippel. Joseph attended Plymouth schools, graduating from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1960. On November 16, 1963, he married Sandra Sauermilch, she preceded him in death on February 3, 2006. Joe was a cheese maker at Borden Dairy Corp. for 44 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed working on his lawn tractors and snow blowers, woodworking and for many years was involved in racing with his brother, Tom.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: David and Virginia Sippel of Two Rivers; daughter: Denise Hilbelink of New Holstein; five grandchildren: Caden, Chanceller, Jakoby, Danaka and James; two brothers: Tom (Kay) Sippel and Bobby (Mary) Sippel; and sister: Alice Meyer. He is further survived by a brother-in-law: Doug (Diane) Sauermilch; and sisters-in-law: Jody Nienow, Sara Siebert and Connie Wordell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a son: Dean Sippel in 1984; a sister: Joyce (Don) Federwisch and brothers-in-law: Joe Meyer and Dick Sauermilch.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
