Joyce J. Casavant

Joyce J. Casavant, age 90, longtime resident of Two Rivers, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2021 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.

Joyce was born August 7, 1931 in Tisch Mills to Joseph and Emily (Konop) Sloup. She attended country schools and graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1949. On August 28, 1954, she married Eugene D. Casavant at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. He preceded her in death December 9, 2004. Joyce worked for many years at Mirro Aluminum and the Carron Net Company in Two Rivers. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman; she enjoyed sewing, traveling, playing cards, and time spent with her family.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, John and Cheryl Casavant of Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Andy Casavant (fiance, Kara) and Sarah (Paul) Parent; two great-grandchildren, Camden and Maxwell; one sister-in-law, Pat Casavant of Two Rivers; along with special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emily Sloup; husband, Eugene Casavant; one sister & brother-in-law, Marcella (Jim) Valenta; two brothers & a sister-in-law, Kenneth (Jean) Sloup, and Joseph Sloup; and other in-laws: Andre Casavant, George (Dorothy) Casavant, Suzanne Sterling, and Lee Ertman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 3rd, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. David J. Pleier, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church Friday afternoon from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
