Kenneth W. Stuebs

Kenneth Wayne Stuebs is now at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with loved ones gone before him. Ken passed away on November 5, 2023, at the Hamilton Care Center.
Ken was born on December 30, 1936, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Erich Stuebs Sr. and Caroline Miller Stuebs. He graduated from Washington High School in 1954. Ken served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Ken worked for Eddie Van Ess Masonry for several years, and in the winter, when there wasn’t work he would travel south for the winter, spending one winter In Florida, another in California. The next winter of 1960 he spent in Tucson, AZ, where he met the love of his life, Nancy Heidere. They were married February 22, 1961, in Scottsdale, AZ, and moved back to Wisconsin, where they lived in Fond du Lac for over two years and had their two sons, Jeffrey and Gregory. They moved to Colorado Springs for 4 years, then moved back to Two Rivers in order for the boys to attend St. John’s Lutheran Grade School. Ken’s brother asked him to come back also, to do the masonry for the homes he was starting to build. Ken had his own masonry business, Ken Stuebs Masonry for about 30 years. Doing masonry work for various contractors and private jobs. He then went back in the union for 6 years, and his last job was helping to build the new Two Rivers High School. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling and visiting family around the country. He and Nancy lived in the old Stuebs homestead for the last 24 years, which he loved.
Ken is survived by his wife: Nancy; two sons: Jeffrey (Judy) Stuebs and Gregory (Lori) Stuebs; 13 grandchildren: Jacob (Katrina) Stuebs, Jordan (Emily) Stuebs, Miranda (Andy) Prisland, Hannah Stuebs, Gretta (Ari) Goudy, Kenny (Hayley) Stuebs, Catalina Stuebs, Lydia (Nathan) Tanney, Silas (Kelsey) Stuebs, Avery Stuebs, Louise Stuebs, Sylvia (Austin) Bohling, and Linden Stuebs; and 13 great grandchildren: Laura Best, Leo, Canaan, August and Serena Goudy, Cameron, Addison and Chloe Prisland, Alice, Gwen, Anders and Leslie Tanner and Sawyer Stuebs. He is further survived by one sister: Linda (Roy) Schlavensky; two brothers: Rev. Martin Stuebs and Merlin (Karen) Stuebs; sisters-in-law: Doris Stuebs, Judy Stuebs and Donna Horn; along with countless nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Erich Stuebs, Jr., Warren Stuebs, Elaine Emond, Eugene Stuebs, Daniel Stuebs and Diana Moseley.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Deja Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Ken’s brother, the Rev. Martin Stuebs, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
