Kristin M. Koch, age 40, of Manitowoc, died unexpectedly, following a medical issue, on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Kristin was born on March 19, 1982, in Manitowoc, a daughter of Mary (Kleman) Koch and the late Jonathan “Jon” Koch. She attended St. Andrew’s Catholic Grade School, Cabrini Middle School, graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 2000 and furthered her education at LTC and NWTC. She started her working career at 15 in elder care as a resident aide at Saint Mary's Nursing Home. Kristin later moved to the Manitowoc County Health Care Center as an activity aide and continued her career, advancing to earn her degree as an LPN in 2016. Kristin served as assistant director of nursing for Rivers Bend Nursing Home while simultaneously completing her education as an RN. In April of 2022, she accepted a position with Sharon Richardson Hospice as an RN Case Manager. Kristin's dedication and calling was always elder care, family members of those she cared for often approached her family with glowing remarks.
Kristin had many hobbies and pastimes; she enjoyed many camping trips, state dart tournaments and her most recent adventure with her paranormal family from Windigo Paranormal. Of all the things mentioned, Kristin's ultimate enjoyments were her family, nephews and niece and her extra special canine companion, Wilson.
Survivors include her mother: Mary Koch of Manitowoc; sister: Rachel (Koch) Jeanquart (Keith Counard) of Denmark; nephews and niece: Nolan, Jarett Jonathan “JJ”, Brenden and Michaela; special canine companion: Wilson; and her aunts and uncles: Jeanne and Dale Holmer, Rob and Lynn Kleman, Steve and Cathy Hoopman (Godfather); Mark and Jean Koch and Steve and Becky Koch; along with many cousins, other relatives and special friends.
In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert and Ann Kleman and Kenneth and Elberta Koch; and her Godmother: Laurie Hoopman.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Ave., Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Matt Colle.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service concluding the visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m., led by Deacon Mike Dolezal. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.

She was the Life of the Party and Queen of Halloween and Christmas. Kristin danced her way into the hearts of many and danced joyfully with her friends until her final breath.
