Leah B. Lemanchek, age 85, lifelong resident of Two Rivers, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Leah was born at the family home in Two Rivers on January 29, 1939 to Edward and Agnes (Ruelle) Beitzel. She attended St. Luke's Catholic School and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1957. On June 14, 1958, she married Robert J. Lemanchek at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Together the couple owned and operated Bob's Bar in Two Rivers for many years. Bob preceded her in death on September 21, 2009. Leah was also employed at her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, and served as an active volunteer and member of the Ladies Society. She had many pastime enjoyments which included playing cards, games, puzzles, baking, gardening, and Sundays with family. She also remained active with several leagues which included bean bags, dartball, miniature bowling, and the Wednesday Senior bowling league. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Debra and John Byrd, one son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Tonjia Lemanchek, all of Two Rivers; her grandchildren: Chrystal Lemanchek (fiance, Edison Thao), Barbara Byrd, Justin (Taylor) Molanders; and two great-grandchildren: Vincent and Owen Thao. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Belz and Pat Beitzel of Two Rivers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Agnes Beitzel; husband, Bob Lemanchek; one daughter, Diane Molanders; step-father, Fritz Krey; her brother, Jim Beitzel; and three sisters & brothers-in-law: GeGe (Bob) Rehrauer, Sharon (Paul) Havlichek, and Shirley (Dick) Vanne.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
