Leonora A. Jerabek

Leonora A. (Kasten) Jerabek, age 99, former Mishicot resident, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Northland Lodge Assisted Living in Two Rivers.

Leonora was born April 22, 1924 in Manitowoc to Otto and Caroline (Schramm) Kasten.

She attended the Meadow Brook School in the Town of Gibson. She worked at Eggers in Two Rivers for several years, then worked as a homemaker raising her 10 children. Leonora enjoyed polka dancing, bingo trivia, gardening, and word puzzles.

On June 15th, 1946, she married Victor Jerabek at the home of her parents in Francis Creek. Victor preceded her in death on March 21, 2001.

Leonora is survived by her 5 sons and 3 daughters-in-law: Duane Jerabek, Michael Jerabek, and Paul (LouAnn) Jerabek, all of Mishicot; Lyle (Suzanne) Jerabek of Oregon, and Loren (Lorraine) Jerabek of Shirley; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law: Judith (Pat) LaPlante of Manitowoc, Vicky (Jan) Walotkiewicz of Two Rivers, Brenda (Michael) VanSleet of Manitowoc, and Martha Jerabek of Two Rivers. She is further survived by one sister, Darlene Morrison of Oshkosh.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott, Kenny (Christy) Walotkiewicz, Jordan Jerabek, Stephen Krejcarek (special friend, Nikki), Brian Krejcarek (special friend, Sarah), Sara and Kathleen VanSleet, Raven (Elyjah) Engelbrecht, Skylar (Lila) Jerabek, Hunter Jerabek (special friend, Clara), Lora Meissner; special grandchildren, Chad Boettcher and Michelle Johnson; 6 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and other relatives, family and friends.

Leonora was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Caroline Kasten; her husband, Victor; one daughter, Shirley; her in-laws: John and Pauline Jerabek; sister, Mildred Doleysh; brothers-in-law, Wenzel Doleysh, Roger Morrison, Leo Jerabek, Harvey Woracheck, Edgar Muench, and Frank Zavadil; sisters-in-law, Joan Zavadil-Muench, Bernice Woracheck, Lorraine (Eis) Jerabek; a nephew, Donald Doleysh; and a niece, Diane Hassler.

A visitation for Leonora will be held at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S State St, Mishicot, Thursday evening, April 27, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. There will be no formal funeral service held. Private burial will take place on Friday at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
