Lois M. Miller, age 90, resident of Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, January 10, 2024 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Lois was born in Cooperstown on May 28, 1933 to Clarence and Vivian (Pelischek) Miller. She was a graduate of Kewaunee High School and worked at Mirro Aluminum Company for many years until her retirement in 1995.

Lois was a very talented fastpitch softball player known throughout the State of Wisconsin, and her achievements are many. She pitched in two national tournaments, fourteen regional tournaments, and sixteen state tournaments. She won 10 State Fastpitch Softball Titles - 5 with the Kingsbury Jets and 5 with Dream Lanes of Madison. Lois carried a career batting average of .385 with a career high of .455. She was voted All Regional Player twice and All State Player 8 times. Lois was inducted into the Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame in 1991, Manitowoc County Softball Assoc. Hall of Fame, and the Wisconsin ASA Hall of Fame.

Lois was also an avid golfer and bowler. She is a member of the Manitowoc County Bowling Hall of Fame; she enjoyed watching all Wisconsin Sports teams, especially the Green Bay Packers; she loved to travel with friends, fish, and spend time at the cottage in Wisconsin Dells. Lois also treasured the time spent with her family, and will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include her dear friend & caretaker, Judy Vesper; one brother & sister-in-law, Larry and Virginia Miller of Manitowoc; nephews: Gary (Marlene) Miller of Tisch Mills and Terry Thorne of Two Rivers; one niece, Cheryl (Randy) Valenta of Mishicot; great nieces & nephews; great-great nieces & nephews; and a dear friend, Darlene "Dee" Bates. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Vivian Miller; one niece, Lynn Thorne; and a special friend, Merilyn Roth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Gibson. Rev. James Heffner will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tisch Mills.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gibson, Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.
