Lori A. Buda, 67 of Mishicot, peacefully passed away in her daughter’s arms at home on November 11, 2023. She was further surrounded by the love of her grandchildren and son-in-law, and we are all embraced by the memories she leaves behind.
Born June 12, 1956 in Two Rivers, she was the second of five children to Dale and Joan (Jorgensen) Peronto. Lori graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1974. She would later graduate from Lakeshore Technical College, Associate Degree Materials Management 1986 and then Silver Lake College, Bachelor Degree Business magna cum laude 1993.
Lori was married to Richard Buda from 1976-1979, a union that resulted in their daughter, Jennifer. No one would argue that Lori would say her daughter was her greatest accomplishment. Lori and Jenny were a package deal since the day Jen was born. They went everywhere together; Lori’s softball and sheepshead games, bowling, camping and dartball. Lori and Jen reflected often on the great memories created with Lori’s friends from years past.
Grandchildren didn’t have to compete with Jen too hard for Lori’s attention as they became the light of Lori’s life. Lori never hesitated to shower Sam, Vaughn and Kimmy with treats and shenanigans at every opportunity only to send them home to Jen for the “parenting part”. Lori reveled in that and giggled if Jen even remotely questioned it. Of course, Lori was happy to parent her grandchildren when needed and they grew to trust, respect, and confide in grandma; she was there for every moment.
Lori worked at Hamilton Industries, Mirro, Santa’s Best, KDV Label, Belmark, and most recently Red Arrow Products. There, Lori performed as Coordinator of Contract Manufacturing until retirement in August 2022. She formed great relationships with many co-workers over the years. Jodi Kohlmeier was exceptionally special to Lori; a friendship that sustained beyond Red Arrow, retirement, and Lori’s illness.
Lori is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Michael) Chynoweth of Mishicot and grandchildren Samantha, Vaughn, and Kimberly as well as step-grandchildren Mikaela, Zacharie (Jenna) and Emily (Derek). She is further survived by her sister-in-law Dora Peronto of Two Rivers, sister Connie (Mike) Lyon of Idaho, brother Rick (Mary) Peronto of Green Bay, sister Mari Jo (Jim) Holmes of Two Rivers, and uncle John (Tosh) Peronto of Virginia. Also surviving Lori are nieces and nephews Matthew (Sarah) Peronto, Elizabeth Peronto, Max Lyon, Jack (Brooke) Powers-Lyon, Brandon and Cody Holmes as well as cousins Cathy (Randy) Westfall, James (Kathleen) Steffes, Peggy (Jon) Weston, Kathy (Mike) Emmer and Barbara (Travis) Vincent. Lori will be missed by her grand puppies Azure and Milo, now lost without their daily companion.
Preceding Lori in death are her parents, Dale “Peanuts” & Joan Peronto, brother Gary “Boogie” Peronto, grandparents Norman “Toby” & Alice Peronto and Alvin & Clotilda “Tillie” Jorgensen, and aunt and uncle Carol & Bob Steffes.
Lori’s family is eternally grateful to her caregiving team from Jay’s Legacy; Becky, Mandy, Katie, Kim, and Renee as well as Unity Hospice; Margaret, Kristin, Rachel, and Dawn. Lori’s wishes would never have been able to be honored at home without their support.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Pleier will preside at the service. Cremation has taken place.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m.
