Louis L. Doubek

Louis L. Doubek, age 79, longtime Two Rivers resident, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, September 8, 2022 at his residence.

Louie was born in Manitowoc on September 27, 1942 to Louis E. and Mildred (Decker) Doubek. He attended the Meadowbrook Elementary School and Mishicot Public High School, then served with the U.S. Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. On September 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Mardell M. Stangel at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with almost fifty-seven years of marriage. Louis worked for a number of years at Manitowoc Equipment Works, followed by several years as head of maintenance for McDonald's of Manitowoc & Two Rivers. He then worked for Federal Mogul of Manitowoc until his retirement in 2011. Louie loved playing sheepshead (and usually would win), he enjoyed working in his yard, and loved watching his Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Mardell; one son & daughter-in-law, Brian and Betsy Doubek of Sobieski; one daughter & son-in-law, Brenda and Mike Line of Oakdale, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Robin and Dawn Line; and one great-grandson, Lucas. He is further survived by a brother & sister-in-law, Jim and Dawn Doubek of Mountain; two sisters-in-law & a brother-in-law: Elrene (Jim) Korinek, and Marlene Dewane, all of Two Rivers; special nieces and nephews: Kim, Kay, Jennifer, Renee, Jeff, Chris, and Neil; and a special grand-niece, Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mildred Doubek; two brothers: Roderick (Shirley) Doubek, and John Doubek; his father-in-law & mother-in-law: Leonard and Mildred Stangel; brother-in-law, Jerry Dewane; and a sister-in-law, Artlette Stangel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of VFW Post #1248 and American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.

The funeral mass will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.
