Marcia A. Kortbein

March 16, 1950 — November 13, 2021

Marcia A. Kortbein, age 71, resident of Mishicot, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 13 th , 2021 at home.

Marcia was born March 16 th , 1950 in Two Rivers, the youngest child of Orland and Agnes (Stezenski) Moreau. She attended St. Paul’s Catholic School in Manitowoc and was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Marcia married Roy L. Kortbein on December 1 st , 1979 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Creeks.

Marcia worked at the Manitowoc Health Care Center until she and her husband had children. They raised their family on the family farm. Once their children were in school, she and her husband worked as janitors at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Mishicot. She also worked at Santa’s Best for many years, and then at Krueger International in Manitowoc. She finished her working years running Loving Arms daycare at St. John’s Lutheran School in Maribel.

Marcia had a passion for crafts. She loved knitting and crocheting and gave her finished masterpieces to many people. She also made and decorated cakes for special parties for friends and relatives, including her daughter’s wedding. Together with one of her sons, she made wind chimes and would sell them at farmer’s markets. She enjoyed going to all the band concerts and Fox Valleyaires Barbershop performances in which another of her sons was involved. She was an avid movie-goer with her best friend, Debbie. Marcia enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening and mowing the lawn. At home she enjoyed listening to Christian music, especially those with children singing. She also enjoyed watching detective TV shows with her husband and listening to mystery audio books. She loved to put big parties together with friends and family, whether it was a butchering party, celebration party, or just a “because” party, it was a reason to get together. She also loved to pester her only son-in-law. There were many bonfires where her children had their friends over and they all called her “Ma.” They were all family to her.

She is survived by her husband, Roy L. Kortbein; her three children and one son-in-law: Jessica (Jacob) Turk, of Two Rivers, Jeremy Kortbein, of Mishicot, and Thomas Kortbein, of Kimberly; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Michael and Darlene Moreau, of Jackson, Dennis Moreau, of Two Rivers; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gary and Vickie Pech-Kortbein, and Ronny and Gail Kortbein.
