Marie Sylvia Boulanger

May 13, 1934 — May 6, 2023

Marie Sylvia (Lesperance) Boulanger of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, passed away on May 6 th , 2023, at the age of 88, just seven days short of her birthday.

Marie was born May 13, 1934 in Pound, Wisconsin, to George and Mary (Paremski) Lesperance. After graduating from Coleman High School, she moved to Two Rivers to work at the Metal Ware Corporation. She married Camille Emil Boulanger on June 9, 1956, at St. John the Baptist Church in Coleman, Wisconsin. They had a marriage of over 25 years and had six children.

Her Catholic faith was the foundation of Marie’s life, especially giving her strength after the loss of her beloved son, Donald. She belonged to St. Peter the Fisherman Church (formerly Holy Redeemer Catholic Church) where she volunteered her time in the kitchen, sang in the choir, and attended Eucharistic Adoration regularly on Thursdays. She raised her children in faith and shared it with others.

Marie will be remembered as a devoted mother who cared for her family throughout her life. She had an extensive garden and canned most all the produce from it. Her flower beds were just as extensive. She used her green thumb to grow a profuse number of indoor plants, often taking cuttings to start new plants for her family and friends. She had a variety of interests, from knitting and sewing, to baking and cooking, even taking up golf later in life.

Marie was also a compassionate caregiver, welcoming family and friends into her home when they might need extra care and visiting shut-ins to help them in their own homes. In her living room, you could find her with an old movie or a faith-based program on the television, putting puzzles together, or playing Bridge with her friends.

She adored babies! Visits from her great-grandchildren were especially enjoyed and always brought a smile to her face.

Marie is survived by: her children, Allen Boulanger, Whitelaw; Susan (Mike) Danelski, Green Bay; Mary (Ted) Richmond, Green Bay; Jean (Peter) Lindemann, Valders; and Peter (Rebecca) Boulanger, Appleton. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Jonathon Boulanger, Amanda (Broc) Watzka and their children Adam, Brody, and Brooke; Susan, Thomas, Laura, and Claire Richmond; Crystal (Scott) Cole and their children Lauren, Mariah, and Whitney; Melissa Lindemann; Rose (Carlton) Heling and their son Martin; Rebecca (Torin) Yonash and their children Levi, Daniel, Nathan, Jacob, and Abigail; Lisa, Peter, Katie, Margaret, Lydia, and Paul Lindemann; Alexander, Nicholas, and Madeline Boulanger.

Marie is also survived by: four sisters Violet Kowalczyk, Carol (Lyle) Ausloos, Janice Wogsland, and Marlene Kortbein; brothers-in-law Ralph Seewald and John Goetz; and sister-in-law Joan Lesperance. She has numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Camille; son Donald; grandsons Joseph, Aaron, and Benjamin Lindemann, and great-granddaughter Sarah Yonash. She is also preceded by: six brothers, Lester (Evelyn) Lesperance (Saucier), Leonard (Sylvia Grimm) Lesperance, Bernard (Pat) Lesperance, Clement, Francis, and Donald Lesperance; seven sisters: Lorraine (Carl) Hetue, Bernice Shallow (Goetz), Dorothy (Edwin) Stodola, Joyce Seewald, Joan, Shirley, and Betty Lesperance; brothers-in-law: Frances Shallow, Thomas Kowalczyk, Gale Wogsland; and sisters-in-law: Marie (Leon) VanGaal, and Bernadine (Lester) Borkovec.
