Marion G. Prust, age 91, lifetime resident of Two Rivers, died Friday morning, December 15, 2023, at home.
Marion was born on October 24, 1932, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Herbert and Esther (Braun) Steinhauer. She attended Tannery Country Grade School and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1950. On May 30, 1957, she married Maynard “Muzzy” Prust, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Haase officiated the ceremony, he preceded her in death on April 9, 2020. Marion worked as a bookkeeper at White Cap Beer, St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and the Two Rivers Hospital. Marion loved being a mom, grandma and great grandma and caring for her family; she enjoyed canning vegetables, especially making pickles, making Christmas candy, baking homemade bread and watching her birds.
Survivors include her son: Dean Prust of Ladysmith; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Linda Alvarez of Two Rivers; Karen (Kermit) Long of Pleasant Plains, Ill., Susie (Grady) Smith of Oakford, Ill. and Jeanie (Darrel) Yanda of Two Rivers; grandchildren: David Hubbard, Santos (Nicole) Alvarez, Gracie Alvarez, Sammy Smith, Zachary Smith, Jacob (Courtney) Smith and Chelsea Neuman; and eleven great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother: Donald (Lillian) Steinhauer and sister: Carol Valinski (special friend, Oren Kaminski); along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings: Dorothy Everett, Richard (Shirley) Steinhauer and Ellen (James) Redeker.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
