Mary Ann Cherveny

July 8, 1945 — May 6, 2023

It is truly on the wings of her Guardian Angel that our beloved and dearest Sister, Mary Ann (Franz) Cherveny, joined her husband Robert in God's eternal paradise.

Mary Ann was born July 8, 1945 on the home farm of her maternal grandparents in Two Rivers, WI, the second child of her parents, Edwin and Alice (Dawidowich) Franz. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School in 1963. On August 14, 1965, Mary Ann married her best friend and life partner of 52 years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Together, they moved to the farm on Nuclear Road in Two Creeks where they lived their 52 years of marriage.

From April, 1963 until July, 1977, Mary Ann was employed at Carron Net, Inc. of Two Rivers as their payroll clerk/receptionist, advancing to administrative assistant to the general manager. From 1977 to 1997, Mary Ann and Robert devoted their lives fully to farming, raising dairy cattle, and even tried raising sheep for a period of time. After 20 years of extremely hard farming, Mary Ann and Robert sold their cattle and retired from farming. Retired from farming, Mary Ann gained employment at the Two Creeks Nuclear Power Plant where she worked from 1997 until her retirement on December 31, 2010. Mary Ann also served as Clerk for the Town of Two Creeks, an elected position which she held for greater than 30 years.

Mary Ann loved being with people, but more especially she loved children. She devotedly spent time with all her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews too. These were her children as well. She loved spending time with her ladies club, who met once a month to play cards (Phase 10); anyone say "sheepshead", Mary Ann was sure to be there. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bingo, and flower gardening in her spare time.

Mary Ann is survived by two sisters: Patricia Day (Ronald Spry) of Green Bay, Gerry Genrich (friend, Jeff Nennig) of Two Rivers; two brothers: Richard Franz, and Paul (Donna) Franz, all of Two Rivers. She is further survived by one aunt, Ruth E. Franz of Manitowoc, and her "adoptive" son, Brad (Andrea) and Gracie Groessel of Mishicot; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews who will miss their aunt Mary Ann greatly for all the times she sent them a card for every holiday possible, with two dollars enclosed.

Nieces, nephews and families include: Herschel, Heather, Mason, Levi, and Lucy Day of Altoona, WI; Angela, Peter, Joel, Elijah, Haven, and Lila Day-Delorey of New Franken, WI; Jeremy, Renee, Jaxon, and Mckenzie Day of Pulaski, WI; Justin Day of Pulaski; Michelle, Jason, and Abby Wiskow of Blaine, MN; Mark Franz of Two Rivers; Carrie, Steve, Ethan, and Jordan Welnicke of Two Rivers; Cathy, Andy, Allen, Marissa, Payton, and Alexis Rick of Manitowoc; Christy, Jason, Tim, and Caroline Judnic of Sheboygan; Erica, Eric, Aleigha, Elias, and Liam Dewey of Two Rivers; Sally, Mike, and Austin Ketchmere of Bond, CO; Glen, Colleen, Ryan, and Brandon Soucoup of Las Vegas, NV.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Alice Franz; her husband, Robert Cherveny; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Milton and Adeline Cherveny; sisters-in-law: Rita Cherveny, Bonnie (Dick) Soucoup, and Betty Franz; brothers-in-law: Gerald R.
