Milt Kintopf, age 81, of Two Rivers, died peacefully with family at his side on Sunday morning, June 6, 2021, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Milt was born on November 1, 1939, in Sturgeon Bay, a son of the late John and Ruth (Starr) Kintopf. He was baptized by Rev. Schumann at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Sturgeon, where he was also confirmed in 1953 by Rev. Baganz. Milt attended Thrift Elementary School, a one room school, for grade school, graduated with the Class of 1957 from Sturgeon Bay High School, earned his B.S. Degree from Stout State College in 1962 and his M.S. Degree from Stout State University in 1970. While at Stout, he met his best friend and lifetime companion, Barb Bertrand, who he married on August 11, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Green Bay. He enjoyed working with anything in construction and woodworking and was fortunate to use his talents in those areas to be a teacher and department chair at Washington High School for 31 years. Everyday at school was not a job, but a fun learning experience shared with students. He built many items for his home, children, grandchildren and especially enjoyed doing many craft items for St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, where he was a member for many years. Milt and Barb were fortunate to travel together to 49 states, sorry Hawaii, and also enjoyed several European and Caribbean trips. He enjoyed card playing, fishing, golfing, camping, the Badgers, Packers and Brewers and a good amber beer. He was a member of the Shoto Conservation Club, St. John's Lutheran Men's Club, Two Rivers Lions Club, having served as President and Secretary, and the Two Rivers Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Barb Kintopf; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Todd (special friend, Shawn) Kintopf of Sun Prairie, Scott and Ann Kintopf of West Bend and Jeff and Jody Kintopf of Francis Creek; his grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Kintopf, Hailey and Taylor Kintopf, and Kayla and Kyle (special friend, Cadee) Kintopf; and his great grandson: Tristan.
