Myrna Mae Moder

November 19, 1931 — March 17, 2023

Myrna Moder, 11/19/1931 – 03/17/2023. On March 17th, Myrna Moder, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 91 years young.

Myrna was born in the Town of DuPont, Waupaca County, Wisconsin and grew up on her family’s farm. She met a suave Navy guy at a dance hall in Clintonville named Glenn and after they were maid of honor and best man at her sister’s wedding, they were married on September 23rd, 1950. They lived in Virginia while Glenn was in the US Navy and then moved to Whitelaw with family. They found they loved the area and Lake Michigan and set out to build their first home in Two Rivers from lumber cut on her family farm, a gift from her father. They left their home in Two Rivers for farm life in 1966 and stayed til this day.

Myrna was a Mirro hero for many years, leaving when she was seven months pregnant though no one could tell.

Myrna had a spectacular and huge vegetable garden for over 50 years on their farm and was known for her cooking and hospitality, loving to feed all her family, farm hands, and hunters through the years in “Myrn’s Kitchen”.  She made the best pickles and stuffing. She loved to feed the birds and watch them from her big picture window in her kitchen; the cardinals were always her favorite. She was also known to take home plenty of nickels playing Sheepshead and 31, and yell at Glenn whenever he cheated at cards, which was quite often.

She was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ever wish for and she will be missed more than words can say.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn; daughter, Michelle and her husband Joe Hearley; favorite grandson, Jacob; favorite granddaughter, Emily and Emily’s fiancé Kevin, who happens to also be her favorite grandson-in-law to be.  She is also survived by her sister, Donna (Dave) Krueger; brother, Bill (Judy) Bork; sisters in-law: Suzie Rogers, Polly Rodgers, Nancy Moder, Patricia Moder, Mary Ann Moder, and Mary Moder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna Bork; father and mother-in-law, George and Loretta Moder; sister, Eileen Lemke; brothers: Byron, Duaine, and Arlyn Bork; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert Krueger, Donald Lemke, Jen Bork, Karen Bork, Leonard and Alice Moder, Wesley Moder, Wayne Moder, Charles Moder, Ronald Moder, Evan Rogers, and Norman Rodgers.
