Paul F. Meissner

Paul F. Meissner, age 84 of Shoto, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2023.

Paul was born in Shoto on March 8, 1939 to Roland and Viola (Schimmel) Meissner and lived his entire life in Shoto. He attended Shoto school for 6 years, then Holy Innocents for 2 years, and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1957. Paul married the love of his life, Janice Herman on May 17, 1958 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. The couple enjoyed 65 wonderful years together.

Paul began his employment at Busch Agricultural Resources (Anheuser Busch) of Manitowoc in 1962. He spent the next 37 years with the company, retiring in 1999. In 1985, he earned a life-time membership in the Shoto Conservation Club for his dedication to the club since it began in 1954, and received a special recognition award in 1994 for outstanding contributions to conservation. He was currently the oldest member of the Shoto Conservation Club. Paul and Janice were longtime members of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish. They also enjoyed their summer cottage in Shawano and made many great friends there over the past 35 years. Paul enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years which included golfing with his buddies, catching lots of crappies, playing cards, and riding his bike every day. He also played on the Shoto Conservation Club dartball team for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; two daughters & sons-in-law: Nancy and Rick Kapellen of Sheboygan, Lynn and Ron Komoroski of Two Rivers; and two beautiful granddaughters who meant the world to him: Christina Komoroski of Milwaukee (special friend, Ben Braun) and Amanda Komoroski of Las Vegas (special friend, Caleb Lawrence). He is further survived by one sister, Donna Petska of Shoto; and two brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Eugene (Martha) Herman and Rick (Pat) Herman; along with many nieces, nephews, and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Viola Meissner, Sr.; five brothers and three sisters: Vernon (Bonnie) Meissner, Kenneth (Elaine) Meissner, Eunice (Edward) Braun, Roland (Grace) Meissner, Jr., Ione (Tony) Kornely, Glen (Margaret) Meissner, Daniel (Rosie) Meissner, Shirley (Chuck) Holly; and a brother-in-law, Roy Petska.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave  Pleier, with entombment later afternoon for the immediate family at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Thursday from 9:00 until 11:15 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shoto Conservation Club or St. Peter the Fisherman Parish.
