Peter Skwor

Peter D. Skwor, age 85, lifelong resident of Mishicot, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, August 10, 2022 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Peter was born in Mishicot on May 20, 1937 to Hugo and Florence (Nachtwey) Skwor and attended Mishicot Public Schools. On July 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Marlis M. Clarksen at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with two sons, and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. Peter worked for many years in the family business, Skwor's Meat Market of Mishicot, followed by 30 years as a patrolman with the Manitowoc County Highway Department until his retirement. In his younger days, Pete enjoyed playing softball and fastpitch softball. Over the years, and in to his retirement years, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, and loved cutting wood, as well as time spent with family.

Survivors include his wife, Marlis; his two sons: Jim Skwor (special friend, Robyn Kramer) of Mishicot, John (Marcey) Skwor of Gladstone, MI; his grandchildren: Aaron Krejcarek, Amber Stegemann, Ryan (Evelyn) Thompson, Kelsie (Mike) Dewar; and three great-grandchildren: Isla, Arlo, and Logan. He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Arlyn (Mary) Clarksen of Waukesha, and Shelley (Mike) Messman of Two Rivers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Florence Skwor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wallace and Mary Clarksen; siblings: Lois (John) Vawter, Vicky (Jack) Kellner, Paul (Susie) Skwor; and in-laws: Donald Clarksen, and Marilyn (Dan) Hetue.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. Officiant Lisa Novachek will preside at the service, with burial of his cremated remains to follow in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home Thursday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.
