Phil Gospodarek

Phil Gospodarek, age 82 of Two Rivers, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, January 22, 2025 at the Aurora Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Phil was born in Two Rivers on June 16, 1942 to Alois and Marcella (Shedivy) Gospodarek. He was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. Phil was united in marriage to Suzanne K. Schrimpf on February 10, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple enjoyed just short of 63 years of marriage.

Phil worked for the Manitowoc Company for 29 years until his retirement. After retiring, Phil and Sue moved up to Mountain, WI where they lived for 18 years on Green Lake before moving back to Two Rivers. Phil was a lifelong sports fan and outdoorsman. He enjoyed watching all Wisconsin Sports - Brewers/Packers/Badgers; and loved hunting & fishing. In his spare time he also enjoyed woodworking and the Tuesday gatherings with his friends to play sheepshead. He played baseball for many years with the Two Rivers Polar Bears, and also many years of softball with various teams and leagues in Two Rivers. Above all, Phil loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Susie; two sons & daughters-in-law, Jeff and Annelle Gospodarek of Wausau, Jim and Jenny Gospodarek of Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Trisha (Mark) Podskarbi, Tim Gospodarek, Megan (Tom) Neuman, Brock (Izzy) Gospodarek, and Amber (Karl) Klinker; along with four great-grandchildren: Briella, Braxton, Lyla, and Leroy. He is further survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law: Tom (Faye) Gospodarek, Leon (Sarah) Gospodarek; one sister & brother-in-law, Carrie (Danny) Amond; one brother-in-law, Tom Schrimpf of Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Marcella Gospodarek; his daughter, Jane Rappe; and his father & mother-in-law: Herbert and Bernice Schrimpf.

The family invites all relatives and friends to join them in a Celebration of Life which will be held at Lonz's Tannery Club, 4317 Tannery Rd. Two Rivers on Sunday, February 2nd from 12:30 until 4:00 p.m. Private family services will be held prior to the celebration.
