Richard A. "Buzzy" Wilson, age 87, of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly late Sunday night, May 22, 2022, at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Buzzy was born in Two Rivers on January 4, 1935 to Joseph E. and Agnes (Gehrke) Wilson. He attended schools in Two Rivers and served in the Army National Guard for 8 years with the Red Arrow Division. On November 8, 1958 he married Joyce Mueller in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1981. He then married Sharen Denfeld Lesperance on July 6, 1992. Buzzy retired from Mirro Aluminum after 49 1/2 years. He was a huge supporter of his grandkids sporting events, and a collector of many items. He enjoyed gathering with family around bonfires, and loved his Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Survivors include his wife, Sharen; two daughters, Stacie (Jim) Sanford, and Nichole Lesperance, all of Two Rivers; three grandchildren: Connor James Sanford, Kiran Sanford, Aiden-Brian Lesperance; along with his brothers: Joseph (Audrey) Wilson, Jr., and Ronald Wilson; sister, Corrine (Dale) Pekarek; brother-in-law, David Tice, Sr.; and sisters-in-law: Lana Wilson and Mary Wilson. He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne Denfeld, Karen LeBotte, Judy (Ken) Sokol, Nancy Denfeld, Julie Denfeld, and Jr. LeBotte; special family friend, Jeanette Cleaver; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes Wilson; his first wife, Joyce; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Robert and Lenore Denfeld; brothers/sisters/and in-laws: Norman Wilson, John (Sherry) Wilson, Gerald Wilson, Roberta Tice, Joan (Jim) Taylor, Doris (Charlie) Kaiser, Shirley Doubek, Dale Denfeld, Glenn Denfeld, Sandy Denfeld; and family friend, Barry Cleaver.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapel, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be held immediately following the service by members of VFW Post #1248 and the American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers. Burial will be held at a later date at Knollwood Memorial Park, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Friday evening, June 3rd, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
